For over three decades, Thom Pinto has been a trusted coach to hundreds of working voice actors in Los Angeles, San Francisco and across the country. Creator of the “Colors of Your Voice” technique, Thom brings a dual perspective to his teaching. His experience as a commercial producer and a talent, provides an appreciation for a sponsor’s needs, as well as a sensitivity to the actor’s experience behind the mic. Thom focus as a coach is the psychology of self-direction. Whether it’s commercials, promos and in-show narration (or as he likes to call it, “Primetime Narration”), he helps each talent find ways to stay fresh, engaged and “in the moment” when auditioning from the solitude of the home studio. His recent commercial television voice-over credits include an introspective storyteller for Audi, an “everyman” for AT&T U-Verse, a whimsical poet on Clorox and a fun-loving retro announcer for Fuze Tea. As a narrator, he is a familiar voice on cable-- Discovery’s Arctic Rescue, TLC’s Outrageous 911, The Weather Channel’s American Supernatural, Travel Channel’s World’s Best Beaches and Smithsonian Channel’s ghoulish Crazy Monsters. And since 2007, has been a promo voice for the CBS News family: CBS This Morning, 48 Hours, and the CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley.
